The Real Deal

We had a very exciting week this week filled with wonder and joy. :) Abby is a lot more aware and cuddly now. She still does the chokehold on Roy, where she grabs his shirt collar and pushes her fist into her Adams apple. She can make him do whatever she wants… This weekend we moved her out of our room and into hers. Roy was thrilled, but Michelle felt separation anxiety. Needless to say, the night was normal and everyone survived. Abby is also exploring her fingers and trying to find that elusive thumb. If you notice the picture below, you will see that we FINALLY caught her smile on camera. I’m thinking it must be the ballet slippers from her aunt Samira.

We were welcomed to the world of hard parenthood in Sacrament meeting today when Abby decided that the passing of the Sacrament was the perfect time to have her diaper changed. And it needed to be done NOW. Roy walked out of the chapel to change her diaper with her screaming and everyone he passed was in shock that such a loud sound could come from such a small girl. They have no idea… She was so mad at Roy that she screamed through the entire diaper change. He had to take her into a classroom and sing to her to get her to calm down.

Here is Abby posing with her pink elephant from Grandma and Baba Z. This is her favorite toy so far. We've introduced other toys, but this one is consistently the one that gets her to be happy. We can usually get her to do her “laugh” (breathing in and out really fast with her mouth open) when we tickle her with the elephant’s trunk.

This upcoming weekend is Roy’s Birthday Extravaganza. Sadly, Roy found out all the presents Michelle is giving him because she’s not sneaky enough. Somehow, Abby managed to keep her gift a secret from her dad. Be sure to send Roy birthday wishes--he's the big 25!

I love seeing all the photos you post, I just took some of Mere-the 1st time she's worn a dress! and put them up on our blog. Abby is big! Saki and I haven't taken here to church yet, everyone's been sick and it is so cold here. We did go to our friend's baby blessing though-isn't it fun when the baby's are more awake! eliz
