Zwahlens at the Zoo

We went to the Zoo yesterday and Abby and Sam would loved it! Sam is really good at making different animal noises and every time he saw an animal he would make the appropriate animal sound. His monkey sound is the best (you must encourage him to do it for you if you can). Of course they both loved the turtles (Sam's favorite animal).

Abby loved all the animals except for the brown cow that was way too close to the fence and giving daddy the stink eye. I almost got mad cow disease just by looking at him. Abby's favorite part was when we stopped and said "there is a dinosaur in the bushes." She stopped, squealed, and then went to investigate to find a huge triceratops. She then said to Sam "It's okay Sam. Don't be scared" which we believe was more to calm her own nerves than her brother's.

New Park!

We love to be outside. It's good for our souls. One of the great things about our new house is that it introduces us to more neighborhood parks. We have one about a 5 minute walk from our house. It's a great one!

Sam, my climber, sure he can get up anything.

Abby after successfully scaling the tallest ladder.

My matching boys. I love it!

August

Most of our August was spent looking for a new place to live or packing and cleaning. We are now in a much bigger place, we have that now-necessary third bedroom, and Roy's commute is 10 minutes shorter each way. All in all, besides the actual hassle of moving, we have come out way ahead. We're really happy with our new place, especially since we're feeling more settled and unpacked (unless you look in our basement or the third bedroom). This made 4 moves in 2 years and we are hoping to stop the tradition of moving over Labor Day weekend. It gets a little old doing it the Labor Days of 2009, 2010, and 2011, especially when you throw in the October 2010 move.

But we did have some fun this August! We found out that #3 is coming in March and dealt with all that first trimester fun, we went to lots of parks and a fun garden with friends, gave Sam his first ice cream cone, and got Sam a Cars blanket. When Abby was about 18 months we got her a Tinker Bell blanket (Abby's first favorite character) so we wanted to continue the tradition with Sam and his obsession with Cars. Sam seeing the blanket was definitely love at first sight. :) And
then we had a blanket party.
