hey michelle! i just read your question about martin our elf. first, i don't think james is too old, he'll think it's cool, i'm sure of it.
i don't really have a poem though. our elf comes on thanksgiving. he just shows up with his book. did your elves come with a book? in the book, it explains the elfs purpose, that he's now a member of our family contracted by santa to keep an eye out until christmas. we had to give him a name and the kids had to promise to take care of him. no touching or he loses he magic. jake and i have a little reminder in our room so we don't forget to move him around at night. then on christmas eve, he goes back to his home with santa until next year.
